Christmas Wedding Proposal Ideas
- If you live in an area that has horse-drawn carriage rides through areas with Christmas lights and decorations, make arrangement to take her for a romantic ride for two during the evening. Choose a proposal date that is as close to Christmas as possible. Bring a warm blanket, a thermos of cider and the engagement ring wrapped up as a Christmas gift. In the middle of the ride tell her that you have an early Christmas gift for her and present her with the gift-wrapped ring. When she opens the box, ask her the question.
- Build up anticipation by gift wrapping her engagement ring and placing it at the center of a series of gift-wrapped boxes of increasing size. Make the outer box an exaggeratedly large one. Fill each box inside with tissue or foam peanuts and place a framed picture of both of you or a love note on top of the next visible box. Continue the same pattern leading up to the smallest box with the ring. On Christmas eve or morning leave the final large box out for her to open. When she opens the smallest box, get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.
- Plan a Christmas party and rent a Santa Claus suit to play Santa and pass out gifts. Encourage her to sit on Santa's lap and instead of asking her what her Christmas wish is, tell her yours and ask her to marry you. As an alternative, if you are a woman giving the marriage proposal, catch him by surprise by dressing up as a sultry or traditional Mrs. Claus to ask the question.
- Lead up to the marriage proposal by giving him an advent calendar box. Instead of gifts or chocolates, write down a different endearing memory from your time together or a love note for each day of December leading to Christmas. On the final day, the note should be one that asks him to marry you. For men proposing by advent box, include the engagement ring along with your proposal question.
