It seemed a significant thin book, clearly organized, easy to read and filled with pictures that managed to get look good. It seems like a magazine that is really good affordable. The writing is apparent, with step-by-step instructions that somebody who is just beginning candle making could follow very easily.
It isn't as detailed as some books I've come across, but is a good taster.
Is suitable for beginners?
This book is eminently ideal for beginners, providing all the details you need to make your first candle safely and without an excessive amount of difficulty. The Instructions are detailed, clear to see, and perfect for somebody that is not used to candle making.
Is book suitable for experts?
Unlike some beginner books, this book provides extensive interesting and useful ideas which will make it a useful but standard reference to any expert. So, even if you have gone beyond beginners textbooks in the end you come back to this book occasionally. It wouldn't be it I would choose for a specialist candle maker, but it's useful.
Would I suggest this book?
This book is not a comprehensive tome that will cover all you need to know as you are growing within the craft, but it is a terrific way to start learning all of the most important steps of candle making without getting too intimidating.
If you wish to make beeswax candles manually, I recommend finding a supply of cheap beeswax, wicks after which just giving it a go. It's great fun to do, and can give you an inexpensive hobby.
