London's Borough Market is a vast open-air space under a Victorian-style warehouse roof, just south of London Bridge. The Market is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with Saturday being busiest after 11am. It's a foodie's heaven so don't eat before visiting!
This area of London has been known as a food market for around 1000 years. Just as they did then, customers want to know where their food comes from so many of the stallholders make, grow or rear the produce they sell.
The market was wholesale only for a long time but around a decade ago it realized the popularity of its traders to the food-loving locals and the retail market has grown and grown.
The traders now include bakers and butchers, as well as the fruit and veg that looks so great in everyone's photographs. The food variety extends to delicious cheeses and chutneys, olives and diverse international food.
Many stallholders give samples so you can enjoy plenty before choosing something for lunch or to take home. Many Londoners like to come here to buy the best produce for their weekend so it gets really busy by midday on Saturdays.
Nearby you'll find a popular Harry Potter Film Location in London.
