How to Calculate Mileage Deduction

1). Add the total number of miles you drove your vehicle for business reasons. Multiply this number by 0.55. The result is your business mileage deduction.
2). Add the total number of miles you drove your car for medical or moving purposes. Multiply this number by 0.24. The result is your deduction for medical or moving mileage.
3). Add the total number of miles you drove for a charitable organization (such as a church or charity). Multiply this number by 0.14. The result is your charitable mileage deduction.
4). Add the results from steps 1 through 3. This is your total mileage deduction.
