What Would You Like to See?
As the coordinator for a think tank which happens to operate online, I am in charge of going through all the applications.
Sometimes they are monotonous and boring, other times they are quite interesting, humorous, and there are some real standout individuals behind the resumes and their applications.
Therefore, I take the good with the bad, and realize it is a task that must be done, and very carefully.
Why you ask? Well it's simple, because the creative genius eminent achiever with a high IQ is generally someone with lots of opinions, achievements, and with all that brilliance comes a little baggage.
You have to sift through the good and the bad, the politics, and any of the religious aspects to go along with the individual.
Indeed, I suppose it's the same when a human resource director is hiring someone for a special project management team.
There may only be a few people of the world qualified to work in those positions, and therefore discretion is necessary when scrutinizing the resume and application, and that has to be understood.
One of the questions on our application is very interesting; "what changes would you like to see around the globe?" It's one of a five part series of questions having to do with what sort of changes need to occur in your community, region, country, around the globe, and forward thinking thoughts for what occurs beyond Earth.
Mind you there is no right or wrong answer, just as there is no right or wrong answer for a beauty queen answering the question from the judges.
What's that famous joke; "I want world peace," as the politically correct answer.
Of course if one is just mimicking what everyone else is saying, there's no originality in that.
Luckily with high IQ people, they have all sorts of interesting ideas to fix the world.
Not long ago, I got into a conversation with one of the applicants about their answer, and then they said; "by the way, what would you like to see fixed in the world?" Well, I have a very interesting answer, and probably one you haven't heard before: I would like to see a rewarding life experience for every individual.
Indeed, you can tell by my answer that I am an American who believes in liberty, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness.
I think those are extremely good ideas, and I think it's wonderful that our Western culture has adopted those principles.
But really, I'd like to ask you the question; what would you like to see fixed in the world? Remember, there is no right or wrong answer, so I ask that you please consider it and think on it.
