Thanksgiving - In Retrospect

I celebrated the holiday this year by acknowledging the blessings in my life, feeling them with total joy, and making an internal commitment to share them to any and all in need.
I stood in abundance at a homeless shelter campus feeding others who have nothing and felt that thanksgiving is really the place where my soul is moved to celebrate living by giving something even when I feel like I have little to give.
I am grateful for so many things: for the flow of love, the vitality that enables me to live yoga with commitment and passion, the love of my family and friends, the creativity that flows within me and through each of us, blissful moments, shelter, food, water, breath and most treasured of all- the grace of the One that permeates existence.
When I considered how I felt about not being fortunate to being able to be surrounded by family on this day, I reminded myself that God is everywhere and permeates everything.
The divine is ever-present within me so I am never truly alone.
I had a beautiful day- no t(of)urkey or pumpkin pie, but nevertheless a day filled with the spirit of Thanksgiving that I imagine would have made Washington happy.
My deepest gratitude and heart-felt Namaste to you for being a part of this global mala of friends that aspire to live life to the fullest.
Until we meet on the path, I hope we can continue to grow and learn from each other through this medium in love and light.
