2011 Nascar Drivers To Watch
The upcoming NASCAR season promises to be one of the best with many drivers worth watching. Dale, Sr. may be gone, but the action should be coming at fans, fast and furious. The crop of current drivers includes both experienced and new drivers. Keep an eye on the following five.
Austin Dillon
Placing himself front and center as part of Richard Childress Racing, Austin Dillon is set to make quite a name for himself this year. With little experience to bring to last years season he claimed seven poles, league leading statistics. Will he be able to best his own record this year?
Travis Pastrana
Making his NASCAR debut in 2011 with a limited number of races, Travis Pastrana will start the year gaining some experience at the K&N Series. He is expected to hit the NASCAR tracks by mid season. His shortened list of races may keep him from being among the most highly rated of drivers.
Mark Martin
Is it his last season, or just his last season with Hendrick Motorsports? Sometimes called the best driver never to win a championship, Martin has been promised by his team that he will get everything he needs to make a beeline for the finish this year.
Aric Almirola
With the frustration of never quite making the cut during his short stock car career, Aric Almirola is hoping to turn 2011 into his year. Its not that he hasnt had first place finishes, its just that he hasnt managed to be a top finisher as of yet. This may be the year he goes all the way.
Denny Hamlin
Eight wins, a season high, and a runner up finish under his belt in 2010 demonstrated to the world just what Denny can do. A ferocious competitor, Hamlin is hoping to make 2011 his best year ever with an intense run for the championship.
With plenty of great drivers hitting the track, fans should look forward to a great year. The season will start with the Budweiser Shootout, a Cup series race, on February 12, 2011.
