Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium - This disease can often be fatal in immunocompromized individuals.

The disease is often characterized by nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
The signs and symptoms would usually last for up to 7 days and should be treated with the right antibiotics.
Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome - is actually a rare yet deadly disease.
This has been brought by an RNA virus in the Bunyaviridae family.
Humans can be infected through several means including rodent bites, ingestion of food and water that are being contaminated by the rat's saliva, urine and droppings.

Leptospirosis - is probably the most common type of rat infection in humans.
It is caused by bacteria called genus Leptospira.
People who have been infected with the disease may experience severe headache, high fever, vomiting, muscle aches, chills, diarrhea, rash, abdominal pain, red eyes and yellow discoloration of the skin, also known as jaundice.
These are just examples of the possible conditions that you will acquire from rat infestation.
