How to Install a Water Temp Gauge
- 1). Refer to your vehicle's manual on how to remove the plastic cover from the dashboard of your car. It is best to have the manual for your particular model so you can do the procedure without the risk of damaging the lighting or other electronic components.
- 2). Locate the water temperature gauge and slide it out of the compartment. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out of the housing. When the gauge is removed, the wires on the back should be exposed.
- 3). Disconnect the wires from the gauge. Connect them to your new temperature gauge and install it in the dashboard housing.
- 4). Reinstall your dashboard according to your vehicle's manual.
