How to Clean a Maytag Performa Dryer
- 1). Remove the lint filter after every load of laundry. Open the door and locate the lint filter at the bottom of the opening. Clean the lint filter thoroughly, and then place it back inside the Maytag Performa dryer.
- 2). Clean the exterior surface of the Maytag Performa dryer every time you clean your home. Use a sponge or a damp cloth to remove any accumulated dust and dirt from the surface.
- 3). Detach and clean the exhaust hose to the Maytag Performa dryer on an annual basis. Unscrew the clamps that hold the hose to the body of the dryer, and then take the hose outside. Hold the hose upright to prevent any dirt from spilling out and soiling your carpets or floors.
- 4). Lower one end of the exhaust hose. Shake the hose vigorously to loosen the dirt and allow it to fall away. Rinse the hose with your garden hose, then allow it to air dry before putting it back on the Performa dryer.
- 5). Unplug the dryer from the outlet, and vacuum the interior of the unit thoroughly. Use the nozzle attachment on your cleaner. Clean the blower fan assembly inside the dryer. Wipe away any accumulated dust with a soft cloth or paper towel.
- 6). Place the dried exhaust hose back on the Performa dryer. Plug the dryer back in and continue using it.
