I'm a sucker for rags to riches stories, and Stanley's is one of the best kind of those, as he had not one, but two very active and well-known organizations behind him. As a barn kitten, Stanley was rescued by the Dumb Friends League of Denver, to be neutered in its mobile cat clinic. There, it was found that Stanley had a broken jaw, an injury which would likely have led to euthanasia in other circumstances.

Now Stanley is the Spokescat for an organization which has performed miracles on behalf of cats.
