Instructions for Using a KitchenAid Mixer
- 1). Verify that the mixer is disconnected from an electrical supply, and switch the control lever to "Off."
- 2). Lift the motor unit up and backward on its hinges. Place an attachment on the attachment shaft, pushing on as far as you can. Twist the attachment clockwise to hook it over the shaft's pin. Your KitchenAid mixer should have come with a flat beater, dough hook and wire whip attachment.
- 3). Set the mixer's stainless steel bowl on the ridged-edge plate. Adjust it clockwise to latch it to the plate. Lower the motor unit on its hinges, and flip the locking lever to "Lock."
- 4). Connect your mixer to an electrical supply.
- 1). Adjust the speed setting on the left-hand side of the mixer to the desired level once you've added your recipe's ingredients. The mixer has 10 numbered settings from which to choose.
- 2). Stop the mixer by adjusting the speed setting lever to "Off." Use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Never scrape a bowl's sides while the mixer is still in operation.
- 3). Turn the mixer back on to finish the task.
- 1). Shut the mixer off and pull its plug gently from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Push the motor head lock lever to "Unlock." Lift the motor unit up and backward on its hinges. Push the beater attachment toward the motor and turn counter-clockwise to release it. Pull it away from the unit.
- 3). Adjust the bowl counter-clockwise to release it from the clamping plate.
- 4). Wipe down the exterior of the motor unit with a damp cloth. Clean the attachments and bowl in a sink full of hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry the attachments.
