Why Not Give the Bible a Chance?
The Bible discusses a variety of topics some of which will need a spiritually mature mind to understand.
There are some things however, that we may never fully understand and every Christian must take this into consideration.
However, a person does not need a theological background to understand certain things about the bible.
Every person in a professional field took the time to learn and develop his skills for his particular profession.
Not everyone has the capability of being a scientist, neither is everyone capable of being a carpenter.
In the same way, humans are not capable of understanding the way God thinks or works.
However, we should be able to understand enough for us to live an adequate and successful Christian life.
Many problems and difficulties of the Bible have been solved with the advent of science and archeology.
Critics found problems in the bible that were easily solved through archeology, science, history and geography.
This means that those problems which still exist still have a chance of being solved.
Therefore this does not in any way prove the bible to be false.
In life we all face problems.
When these problems arise we try to find solutions or wait for answers to solve them.
Sometimes wrong judgments are made but there is usually an eventual conclusion to the matter.
The bible should be given a similar opportunity.
Whatever seeming problems there are in the bible now, ample time should be given for an answer to be found.
There are those who believe in evolution and those who believe that God created the universe.
Both beliefs have their issues.
However for those who believe the bible's creation account have less problems to face than those who believe in evolution.
With the help of science and archeology, the creation of the universe, according to the bible, is becoming clearer and clearer daily.
It is better to accept, by faith, the diverse creation rather than the theory of evolution as this theory does not have any evidence as being absolutely true.
The Bible may not be able to answer all the questions humans may have.
The bible is a divine book and human beings have shortcomings.
If a person decides to look at the bible objectively, they cannot deny that it can change lives if they follow the teachings contained within.
People who take the time to deliberately find problems and difficulties in the bible no doubt are clearly prejudiced and biased against it.
It is apparent that most people who criticize the bible have not taken the time to read it in its entirety or made an effort to seriously study it.
As a matter of fact, students of science and humanity, even though they may not necessarily be believers of the bible, respect it because of the wealth of knowledge and information it contains.
Once a person approaches the bible with an open mind any seeming difficulties will disappear.
However, there will be some problems that will not be easily explained because of human weaknesses and limitations.
