Corfu: the ultimate villa holiday destination

If you're looking to get away from it all this summer and to put some distance between you and the recession briefly at least, then you could do no better than book yourself a villa holiday. Now there's an infinite variety of places you could choose to visit, but if your priorities are sun, sea and secluded beaches, then there really is no better place to visit than the beautiful island of Kérkira. Corfu, or the green island, is the ultimate villa holiday destination.  Admittedly Greece is having economic problems at the moment, but maybe stability will return now that the next tranche of the bail out has been received. For all the economic woe, there is a positive to be gained from this precarious situation. Prices have fallen dramatically, and Corfu is now even better value for money. If you're feeling the squeeze yourself and are watching the pennies, then there's never been a better time to visit Corfu, and sample all that this beautiful island can offer.

Most of the villa accommodation on the island is located around the busier tourist destinations like Sidhári and Kassiópi. Anyone visiting these locations will have everything they might need to hand. Obviously if your idea of luxury is sitting by the pool and soaking up the golden sunshine, then this is the place for you. Corfu's weather is perfect in the summer months: hot, yes, but you're never far away from a gentle and refreshing sea breeze. For some people that's the essence of a holiday – relaxation and meditation. Others however, prefer to get out and about, either to mix and mingle with other holiday makers, or find an isolated spot where they can escape from the world at large. Whatever you're searching for, you'll find it on the friendly isle. If you have the chance to rent a car for a few days during your time in Corfu, then you're definitely in for a treat. Corfu has got it all; from the historic capital of Corfu Town, or the bustling resorts of Benitses and Sidhári, to the quiet and tranquil southern villages of Asprókavos and Pelephóri, Corfu definitely has something for everyone.

You could also of course also mention the fabulous scenery – the beautiful beaches, isolated coves and high mountain slopes densely covered with lush olive groves; or the fantastic and delicious Mediterranean food which is renowned throughout the world. You could even mention the superb flora and fauna and the incredible diversity of the native wildlife on the island, but it's best if visitors discover these hidden treasures for themselves. Nobody would want to spoil the wonderful surprises you're likely to come across when you book your villa holiday in Corfu. Just relax and enjoy yourselves.
