Get Your Vitamin D

Vitamin D mainly comes from being out in the sun but most of us live busy in-door lives and can not get the recommended fifteen minutes of sun that we need to absorb the vitamin.
Especially for those who live in areas where there is more days of cloud cover than sun.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble which helps improve calcium absorption.
We need it to have healthy bones and teeth.
Plus it helps to regulate phosphorus and calcium in the blood.
A deficiency in vitamin D is very common in most Americans and it should not be taken flippantly, especially in children.
When a child is deficient they can contract a disease called rickets.
Rickets will cause a child's bones to become weak and brittle.
In adults a D deficiency can cause soft bones and this will lead to breaks in the spine, hips, and other bones.
It can also contribute to osteoporosis You can fine vitamin D in foods like cheese, butter, cream, fish, oysters, fortified cereals and fortified milk.
Or by getting at least fifteen minutes of sun three or more times a week but the easiest way to get vitamin D is by taking a supplement.
Individuals, ages of 0 to 50 should take around 5 micrograms each day, but one should never take more than 50 micrograms in a day.
How ever you choose to get your vitamin D each day, the point is to get some, everyday if you wish to live a healthy life.
