How to Make Money Giving Excel Training

    • 1). Investigate your local area for businesses and organizations who could benefit from your Excel expertise. Some possibilities include libraries, senior centers and service organizations. Many libraries hold classes for those who are new to the world of computers, so you may be able to teach a course at your local branch. Many seniors need to learn how to use computer technology, so your local senior center may be willing to pay you to teach an Excel course. Social service agencies often serve people who need to learn basic budgeting and money management skills, and your Excel skills may be in demand in that arena as well.

    • 2). Create business cards that include your name, the name of your business and information on your Excel expertise. Hand these business cards out to local businesses and organizations. You may want to start your search with small- to medium-sized firms. Companies with over 100 employees are likely to have a formal software training program in place, while smaller firms may not.

    • 3). Network with other professionals and business owners. Owners of new businesses may be interested in learning more about your services. New companies, in particular, may have a need to bring their hew hires up to speed quickly for an affordable price, so you may want to focus on local start-up companies.

    • 4). Join your local Chamber of Commerce. Becoming a member of the local Chamber of Commerce will give you an opportunity to network with other professionals, as well as the chance to learn about which local businesses may need your services.
