3 Ways To Get Rid Of Belly Fat
With so many fad diets that fail to actually help individuals lose weight, it's no wonder why people are still looking to get rid of belly fat.
Out of all the areas on the body that individuals would like to tone up, belly fat is at or near the top of that list.
However, fad diets, ridiculous workout routines, expensive equipment, and worthless supplements have lead to nothing but lost time, energy, and money (does this sound familiar?).
In this article, I'm going to point out 3 things you must do (actually avoid) to get rid of belly fat.
Stop Following High Protein Diets:Yes, you read that right.
If you are trying to get rid of belly fat, you need to get off the whole "high protein diet" bandwagon.
If you investigate what the reasons are for why a high protein diet is supposedly more effective at burning body fat you'll soon realize that it's flawed.
I won't get into every detail in this article, but, for one, high protein diet supporters claim that it is "thermogenic".
This means that when you consume a high amount of protein your body raises its core temperature as a response.
Supposedly, the higher the thermogenic level in your body, the hotter you become, and the more calories you'll burn.
Well, yes, high protein diets do raise thermogenesis in the body, but the amount of calories actually burned by this process is extremely low...
low enough to not truly make an impact on the amount of weight you'll lose or belly fat you'll get rid of.
Keep in mind that the whole high protein diet craze originated from individuals or companies that had some type of financial gain if a high protein diet were followed, like supplement companies (shakes, pills, powders, bars, etc.
).
Stop Avoiding Carbs:This goes hand-in-hand with the first thing to do to get rid of belly fat.
Again, you don't need to adjust your computer screen.
Just like everyone has blindly believed the high protein diet myth, everyone is also now believing that carbs are enemy #1 in getting rid of belly fat.
First, eating carbohydrates does not automatically mean that you'll stop the fat burning process.
Critics of carbs claim that eating them will cause your blood insulin levels to rise.
The higher your insulin levels in the blood are, the less fat your body will burn for fuel.
Well, sure, if all you did was eat Little Debbie snacks and drank Kool-Aid all day long, your insulin levels will probably be through the roof.
However, insulin levels don't simply react to carbs eaten.
The food combinations and total amount of calories is what has the greatest impact on how your insulin levels will respond.
(Read that last sentence 10 times over, as this is truly the bottom line to getting of belly fat, as no one else seems to really point this out.
) Did you know that a 100% protein meal raises insulin levels much higher than a 100% carbohydrate meal??? Insulin levels are also affected by any fat that may be in the meal, as well as any fiber..
...
as they all affect the rate of digestion.
The slower the digestion of a meal, the slower the insulin response.
So, again, it would not be correct to claim that "if you eat carbs you'll get fat, and if you eat protein you'll get rid of belly fat".
Another major way to get rid of belly fat is: Stop Doing Cardio! If you avoid these 3 diet / training myths that are so popular today you'll be well on your way to getting rid of belly fat.
