- 1). Clean out the interior of the stove with a rag and warm soapy water. You should always clean the interior after a spill and before storing the stove.
- 2). Set the stove to dry upside down. Drying the stove upside down allows any water that might have gotten into the burners and any interior crevices to escape.
- 3). Remove the fuel canister. If your fuel canister is refillable, empty all remaining fuel back into the gas can. Leaving fuel in the canister results in the formation of residues that can block fuel lines.
- 4). Oil the pressurized hand pump on the fuel canister with light machine oil. Proper lubrication of the pump helps maintain the seal.
- 5). Store the camping stove in a cool dry place, sealed in a large plastic bag.
