How to Invite a Doctor to an Event
- 1). Clarify the reason for the invitation. If you want her to participate, say so and be clear about what you would like her to while in attendance. If it is personal, ease into it by asking her if she is involved with someone and would it be a problem to accept a friendly invitation to attend an event with you. Even if you are attracted to her, the first time you invite her out should be on a friendly basis only.
- 2). Give him enough notice. Because doctors may have hectic schedules, the more advance notice you can give him, the better. Extend the initial invitation and then provide a few reminders leading up to the event.
- 3). Generate an alternative transportation plan if she is on-call that night or has a chance of being called to the hospital. You might take separate cars or agree to leave with her if she is called out. As long as you have a plan in place, then you won't be left without a ride if she has to leave.
- 4). Line up an alternate medical professional in the event that you've invited a doctor to serve in a professional capacity for your event, in case your first invitee must leave. Tell the alternate to be ready to speak or perform certain duties in case your originally scheduled doctor must leave.
