How to Build a Mini Wrestling Ring

Make the Base of the Mini Wrestling Ring

    • 1). Place a piece of cardboard on a flat surface. The back of a notebook will work. If the cardboard has a rough edge, trim it using scissors so that it is straight.

    • 2). Glue square shaped kitchen sponges to the piece of cardboard using regular white glue. Allow the glue to dry completely before you proceed to the next step. This will keep the sponges stationary while you finish the wrestling ring.

    • 3). Cut a piece of a shower curtain or fabric that will fit around the entire base of your wrestling ring. Lay this on a flat surface. Place the appropriate glue or tack onto the shower curtain or fabric. In most cases, regular white glue will work. You may also use sewing or craft glue.

    • 4). Lay the base, sponge-side down, onto the glue or tack. Wrap the shower curtain or fabric up around the base. Use glue or tack to attach it to the cardboard. Cut any fabric or shower curtain excess off.

    • 5). Add legs to the four corners on the cardboard side of the base. You can use empty thread spools for the legs. Paint them if you want. Glue them to the cardboard side of the base.

Add the Corner Posts and Ropes to the Mini Wrestling Ring

    • 1). Find items to use as the four corner posts or piles. Skewers used for cooking kabobs are a good option. Paint them if desired.

    • 2). Punch a hole in each of the four corners. This hole should be just large enough in which to fit the corner posts.

    • 3). Place glue on the end of the corner posts. Slide the corner posts into the holes. Allow the glue to dry before you proceed to the next step.

    • 4). Wrap elastic strips around the corner posts. You can attach it by gluing the elastic strips to the corner posts. Repeat this for each one of the ropes around the mini wrestling ring. Most mini wrestling rings have three to five ropes. Let the glue dry.

    • 5). Cut the corner posts to the desired level above the highest rope. Sand the top of the posts if necessary. You may want to paint the top of the posts.
