Honda Evo 6 Specs

    • The Honda EVO6 is a concept motorcycle from Honda Motor Company, Ltd., one of the world's biggest bike manufacturers. Honda revealed the EVO6 in 2007 at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. As of January 2011, no official date has been set for its commercial release.

    Engine

    • The most-discussed aspect of the Honda EVO6 has been its 150-horsepower engine, the same one used on Honda's Gold Wing touring bike. The engine is an internal combustion engine with its pistons moving in a horizontal plane. This makes it a flat engine.

The engine has a 1,832-cubic centimeter displacement, a 2.91-by-2.8 inch bore and stroke, and a 9.8-to-1 compression ratio. Using a single overhead camshaft configuration, Honda places two valves on each of its six cylinders.

    Transmission, Ignition and Lubrication

    • The Honda EVO6's engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The bike uses a digital capacitor discharge ignition, which means that it sends capacitor discharge current output to fire the spark plugs. Its wet sump lubrication system uses a built-in reservoir for storing the recommended 10W/40-grade synthetic oil.

    Brakes, Chassis and Suspension

    • Honda designed the EVO9 with an aluminum frame and twin disc brakes. The suspension comprises an upside-down cartridge in the front and mono shocks in the rear, with suspension travel of 5.51 inches and 4.13 inches, respectively. The tire pressure is measured at up to 0.17 pounds per square inch (psi) in the front and 0.19 psi in the rear.
