- For a fee, the Red Cross offers online CPR and first aid courses. To be certified, you must pass the course with at least an 80 percent and take a skills test in person. All online Red Cross courses comply with OSHA and JAMA standards, but the Red Cross recommends that you verify that your employer will accept the online courses before registering.
- For a fee, the American Heart Association (AHA) offers eLearning courses in CPR and first aid. The courses consist of online cognitive lessons and a skills session that involves hands-on practice and testing. Although the AHA offers a variety of online courses, it offers Heartsaver CPR and first aid courses specifically for the workplace.
- Private companies such as FirstAIdWeb Inc. offer certification by the National Health and Safety Foundation through online CPR and first aid courses. These companies charge a fee to print a certificate or wallet card attesting that you completed the online course.
