Almost all of us suffer from the problem of acne at some point of time in life, especially in our teenage years. Acne can be due to several reasons. It might be due to oily skin, genetic factors, skin allergies, etc. Even too dry skin can cause acne. What is important to understand is what you must do and what you must not do while addressing the problem of acne.

There are simple at home acne remedies that you must do to nourish your skin and keep it fresh and glowing.
  • One must drink lots of water. This is an age-old adage. Drinking water detoxifies the body and keeps your skin fresh and glowing.
  • Eat healthy foods, fruits and vegetables. Avoid oily and junk food.
  • One must exercise regularly. Stress is also a reason for acne. Exercising keeps you fit and healthy and away from stress.

The things that you must not do are as mentioned below.
  • Do not wash your face too often in the day. Many a time, we do that to keep dirt and bacteria away but anything done in excess is not good. If you keep washing too much, your skin will dry up too much.
  • Do not squeeze or pop the pimples on your face. This is a very common thing that we do. The urge to squeeze the pimples is very strong, especially when we have to go out to attend a social function or so. However, this results in the bacteria and infection spreading to other parts of the face and worsening the problem.

At times, sticking to just simple at home acne remedies as mentioned above can keep you away from acne and keep your skin free from any sort of infection.
