How to Build a King Size Bedframe
- 1). Cut your lumber to the correct dimensions using your power saw.
- 2). Sand all faces of your lumber.
- 3). Connect one short beam and one long beam in an L-shape, with the end of the long beam abutting the face of the short beam. Screw them in place using three wood screws per point of connection.
- 4). Drive in one screw at the center of the connection and two additional screws, each two inches from an edge.
- 5). Repeat step three to connect the remaining short beam and one of the remaining long beams.
- 6). Arrange the two L-shapes into a square, again abutting the ends of the long beams against the faces of the short beams. Screw the corners in place as you did with the L-shapes.
- 7). Slide the remaining long beam into the center of the frame. Screw it to the short beams with three screws each, spaced as you have the other connections.
- 8). Lay the two plywood sheets side by side on top of the rectangular frame. Screw them in place with one screw per corner and two screws evenly spaced along each of the three long beams beneath.
- 9). Cover the tops of your screws with painter's putty. Use the putty to fill any holes or dings in the lumber.
