- 1). Rinse your hair with warm water only. This is done after you have waited the designated time for the lice treatment to work. Do not use shampoo yet.
- 2). Use a lice comb to get rid of any lice that may be dead or alive. The comb will also help you get rid of any nits. When you comb each section of hair out, wipe the comb onto a tissue.
- 3). Wait 24 hours before shampooing so that the treatment will still be working on killing the lice.
- 4). Place your head in the sink and wet your hair with the faucet. If you can't get your head under the faucet, use a cup.
- 5). Lather your head with a dandruff shampoo. This is the best way to keep the lice from returning to your scalp. Lice hate the ingredients in a dandruff shampoo.
- 6). Leave the shampoo in your hair for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
- 7). Use the lice comb while the hair is still wet to remove any remaining nits.
- 8). Dry the hair naturally or with a blow dryer.
