Something Completely Different Great Movies Set in Mexico

Mexico is indeed a great location for filming. Anyway, please tell me "What"s with Mexico?" I know that it offers some beautiful scenery and wild range of desserts but don't tell me that it has something to do with the film highest ratings? The following are the famous great films that were set in Mexico.

Once Upon A Time In Mexico

Another breakthrough from Robert Rodriguez two hit films titled El Mariachi and Desperado. Obviously, It was set in Mexico just like his previous films (their title speaks for itself). Sands (Johnny Depp) is a CIA agent. He got caught by General Marquez (Gerardo Vigil) and the drug lord Barillo (Willem Dafoe).

They both desire to assassinate the Mexico's president. Somewhere in town, Mariachi which was played by Antonio Banderas is known in knocking out people using his guitar-shaped gun. He's living a peaceful life after his wife's death. Sands found him and the final battle begin with Marquez and Mariachi.

The fight scenes in mansions, churches, and streets was stunningly amazing. Rodriguez really knows how to play with harsh action scenes.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Another Robert Rodriguez film set in Mexico. This was an action-horror movie starring George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino (Tarantino is one of the screenwriter as well). They played as spoilt brothers roaming around the town named Seth and Richie Gecko.

Not in their plan, they kidnapped a widowed preacher together with his daughter and son. They soon arrived in an establishment which was ruled by vampires.

A very entertaining vampire film from the first collaboration of Tarantino and Rodriguez. Outrageous and fun. Haven't you noticed or it just me who see the pattern here. Robert quite fond of making films in Mexico? Don't you think?

Y Tu Mamá También

Mexico is a perfect place for soul searching and road tripping. These were done in this controversial film of the year which was made by Alfonso Cuarón. Cuarón was a Mexican director . Y Tu Mamá También is a story of two teenage boys ( best of friends) who fell in love with an older woman named Luisa (Maribel Verdú). The main cast includes the two great actors of their generation, Gael Garcia and Diego Luna.

They are both curious, and wild. The three of them planned a trip. Along the road tripping and exploration, they learn what life has to offer. A hilarious and remarkable vacation that modifies their perspective as a person. Best to be known as "coming of age road movies". See this and fell in love with the lovely beach, and unusual places that was captured in this wonderful film.

Funny how these films got something in common but offer a completely different and all original story. The best thing in these these films is that they extend a great story and show the breathtaking beauty of Mexico. Just like watching and travelling at the same time.
