There is Nothing Wrong with American Exceptionalism
Have you ever noticed how many people in the United States believe that we are not the greatest nation, and indeed look to other countries for better ideas as to how to run our civilization? One of my most favorite statements is "We live in the Greatest Nation that has ever been created in all of human history!" But when I say that, I get people who disagree with me, or even call that statement arrogant, and tell me that's the problem with America.
I am always taken aback no matter how many socialist-neo-liberals debate me on this topic.
Generally, I ask them, exactly what is the problem with America, that we are the Greatest Nation, or that we know it and are not in denial of the fact we are great? Then, I say to them; "are you saying it is not politically correct to tell the truth about our greatness?" I explain to them, that it is not a sense of Nationalism but rather that of Patriotism, and a good patriot is never afraid to tell the truth about their nation.
Now, I do admit that there is room for improvement in the United States of America.
That is to say that, we can become even greater.
But, for some reason the Americans who are on the other side of the aisle have a problem with facts, and want to live in a world of defeatism, decline, and denial.
I won't do that, you know why? Because, I know where I live, I am an American, and this is the greatest nation.
If those in other nations have a problem with that, then maybe they should study what America is all about and do more of that, to bring themselves up, but I refuse to apologize for greatness because; here is Nothing Wrong with American Exceptionalism! We are a land of winners, not losers, and we owe it to those who've come before us to carry on the traditions of this nation and not wimp out, or throw it all away for forget from hence we came.
The United States of America did not become great by accident, no Sir, it took a lot of hard work from a very large number of people, unfortunately there are those who live amongst us, and also vote how don't understand all that, but they should.
So, for me, please tell them why we are so great, and what we need to do to keep it that way.
