How to Hook Up a Washing Machine's Plumbing

    • 1). Remove the packaging from the washer and slide it into your laundry room.

    • 2). Squeeze the clamp on the end of the drain hose and slide it over the drainage pipe at the back of the machine. Slide the exposed end of the drainage pipe into your drain or utility sink. Ensure the drainage hose is lifted 2 feet from the ground to keep water from cycling back into the machine.

    • 3). Screw the nut for the water supply to the back of the washing machine using the PVC hoses supplied with the machine. Attach the hot water hose to the hot water supply and the cold water hose to the cold water supply. Some machines only have one water supply, cold, so attach only that if applicable to your unit. Tighten the nuts with a wrench if leaks appear when the water supply is opened.
