- 1). Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW data disc into your disc drive.
- 2). Open Windows Media Player 11. If you don't have WMP 11, then either download or upgrade your version by visiting Microsoft.com. (See Resources.)
- 3). Select the "Burn" tab then click the drop-down arrow beneath the burn tab to customize your settings.
- 4). Select "Data CD" from the drop-down menu. Notice the disc burning pane on the right side of the window.
- 5). Drag and drop your desired WMP media files from the media pane into the burn list on the right. Using Windows Media Player, you can only burn to a data disc files you can find in the player's library, such as MP3, WMV and WMA.
- 6). Click "Start Burn" to begin burning your data disc.
