Format For Writing a Newspaper Article - A Useful Guide For Writing Newspaper Articles

There is a certain formula that writers must strictly follow when they are authoring articles that will be published on newspaper.
By following this certain formula, the writer can effectively entertain and educate his readers.
1.
Headlines.
First, think on how you can capture the interest of your target audience.
Ask yourself, what words or statements can you use so these people will pay attention to your article? Keep your headlines short as much as possible.
This must tell your target audience what your article is all about and a compelling reason why they should read on.
2.
Content.
Write your content using the inverted pyramid technique.
On your first paragraph, you should be able to tell your readers all the important information that they need to know.
You must also be able to answer all their questions at this point.
Your supporting details must be placed on your succeeding paragraphs.
Keep in mind that your story must be completely fact-based.
You should not insert your opinion and you should cite all the sources of your information.
3.
Use quotes.
This is something that can make your articles more interesting to read and this is something that you can use to somehow break the flow of facts.
Interview people who are considered authorities on the story that you are covering.
Get their opinion and insert them on your article.
It would be best if you insert the quotes in the middle or at the end of your article to make them more impacting.
4.
Provide background information.
If you are writing a particular subject in a series of stories, you must provide your readers with background information to help them better understand your article.
