Headlight Bulbs

• 1). Lift the Mazda 6's hood. Make sure the engine is turned off.
  
  
• 2). Remove the three screws holding the assembly cover in place with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the cover from the vehicle. The high and low beam bulbs are at the rear of the assembly. The outboard bulb is the low beam bulb and the inboard bulb is the high beam bulb.
  
  
• 3). Remove the desired bulb by rotating it counterclockwise and pulling it out. Use a clean cloth to install a replacement bulb. Both headlights use H1-type bulb. Reinstall the headlight assembly cover and the three screws.
  
  
• 4). Remove the cover from the fuse panel on the right-hand side of the vehicle. Locate the headlight fuses labeled "Head LR," "Head LL," "Head HL," and "Head HR." If any of the four headlight fuses have the metal inside broken, they will need to be replaced.
  
  
• 5). Pull the broken fuse out and install a new 15A if replacing the "Head LR" or "Head LL" fuse. If replacing the "Head HL" or "Head HR" fuse, use a 10A fuse. Place the cover back onto the fuse panel and close the hood.
  
  

Turn Signal Bulbs

• 1). Lift the Mazda 6's hood. Make sure the engine is turned off.
  
  
• 2). Reach into the engine compartment underneath the headlamp assembly and locate the front turn signal bulb. If your hands are large, you may need to remove the headlight assembly cover.
  
  
• 3). Rotate the socket and bulb assembly counterclockwise to remove it. Tug the old bulb out and use a clean cloth to replace it with a new 27-watt bulb.
  
  
• 4). Remove the cover from the fuse panel on the right-hand side of the vehicle. Locate the turn signal fuse labeled "Hazard." If the metal inside the fuse is broken, it will need to be replaced.
  
  
• 5). Pull the fuse out and install a new 10A fuse in its place. Place the cover back onto the fuse panel and close the hood.
  
  

Sidemarker Bulbs

• 1). Turn the steering wheel all the way to the side of the sidemarker light you will be replacing.
  
  
• 2). Reach under the vehicle directly underneath the sidemarker assembly. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the assembly to the vehicle. Disconnect the electric cable from the rear of the assembly. Remove the assembly from the vehicle.
  
  
• 3). Disconnect the bulb from the socket and use a clean cloth to install the new W5W bulb. Reattach the electric cable and secure the assembly to the underside of the vehicle with the screws.
  
  
• 4). Open the hood and locate the fuse labeled "Fog." If the metal inside the fuse is broken, the fuse will have to be replaced.
  
  
• 5). Pull the fuse out and install a new 15A fuse in its place. Place the cover back onto the fuse panel and close the hood.
  
  

Rear Light Bulbs

• 1). Open the Mazda 6's trunk and remove the four screw securing the plastic trunk liner in place. Remove the liner to access the bulbs.
  
  
• 2). Rotate the sockets counterclockwise and pull them out. Pull the bulb out of the socket and use a clean cloth to install the new bulb. The tail lights and brake lights use W21/5W bulbs. The reverse lights use W16W bulbs.
  
  
• 3). Reattach the socket and reinstall the plastic trunk liner and its four screws. Close the trunk.
  
  
• 4). Open the hood and locate the fuse labeled "Tail." If the metal inside the fuse is broken, the fuse will have to be replaced.
  
  
• 5). Pull the fuse out and install a new 10A fuse in its place. Place the cover back onto the fuse panel and close the hood.
