Mitsubishi 14B Turbo Specifications
- The Mitsubishi 14B turbo engine was used in the Japanese automaker's Eclipse model vehicles from 1989 to 1994 according to Mach V Motorsports. The engine was also used in the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser over that same period. Mitsubishi's 14B featured a number of performance upgrades over other Mitsubishi engines including improved acceleration and noticeably higher horsepower.
- The Mitsubishi 14B turbo is a 121.8 cubic inch, 2.0-liter, inline, four-cylinder engine with double-overhead camshaft design. The engine uses four valves per cylinder and 16 total valves. It uses five main crankshaft bearings and also features a catalytic converter. The engine is water cooled and uses turbo aspiration. This improves acceleration at higher speeds by drawing air into the engine more efficiently.
