    • 1). Visit FLTreasureHunt.org, the official site for searching for unclaimed assets in Florida and submitting a claim for assets that belong to you.

FLTreasureHunt.org is run by the Florida Department of Financial Services, Bureau of Unclaimed Property.

    • 2). Click "Search" and enter a last name or business name in the search box that displays in order to search for missing assets.

Use the "Advanced Search Option" to enter additional information, such as a middle name or address, if you want to narrow down the search results.

    • 3). Click the "Account Number" link next to a name for which you want to view additional information.

    • 4). Click the appropriate button in the "Please Choose a Claim Type to Proceed" section if you want to place a claim for the unclaimed asset.

You can place a claim if you are the owner, legal heir or guardian of the account, or if the account belongs to your company.

    • 5). Fill out the claim form for the account. Provide as much information as possible, including full identification information, your Social Security number and the name of your company or business, if relevant to the claim.
