Lost Your Job? The Steps to Take Back Your Power - Take Action Now
It is so easy to get discouraged when you are seeking a job, starting a home business or want to change something in your life.
You are totally immersed in the misery and really can't figure out how to move forward.
It is totally overwhelming.
I was laid off from my job at the "door knob company" when I was 48.
I thought the world had ended and I never wanted to look at another door knob.
That was hard to do if I wanted to leave my house.
So I went through the three steps of grieving: 1.
Disbelief 2.
Anger 3.
Acceptance The time to get through these three steps was dependent on me.
I had to acknowledge that I no longer had a job, get angry (I am good at that), and finally accept that this was not personal.
The company had to do what it had to do to survive.
It turned out that five years later they closed their doors.
I was lucky to be released with a severance package before they went under.
The quickest way to get through this process, particularly the acceptance part, is to look at your life as it is and be grateful for all the good that is in your life at this moment.
Stand in front of a mirror (I know that sounds nuts) and tell yourself and the divine source what you are grateful for.
It could be your health, friends, family, and roof over your head, whatever moves you at the moment.
The minute you are finished you will feel light and hopeful.
Now you are ready to take action.
1.
Make a list of the things you are great at 2.
Make a list of the things you love to do without being asked 3.
Make your "What If" list.
What if I could be and do anything I want to.
Now you are ready to take ACTION.
The story below is from CNN Money and is about a lady that would not take NO for an answer.
What will you refuse to take NO on? I hope she inspires you to take action to success for you and your family.
Banks wouldn't finance her Entrepreneur: Susana Cabrera Business: Delicious Bite A lawyer in her native Venezuela, Susana Cabrera was raised by an entrepreneur father.
But she never saw herself as one until she came to the United States and tried to replicate her ethnic cuisine for her family.
Extremely health conscious, Cabrera was appalled at the sodium and preservatives found in major Latin food brands.
She believed she could do better, and set out to learn everything from recipe adaption to marketing.
When banks wouldn't finance her dream, she invested all of her own family's money to found Delicious Bite, a company making Latin appetizers and meals.
Her products are now in more than 700 stores nationally, and the company is on target to hit $1 million in revenues this year.
Cabrera credits her success to deep spirituality.
"The storms may be strong, but there's always an umbrella" and tenacity, she said, "No matter how many rocks you encounter on the road...
just jump over them and keep your goal in sight.
