How to Install Center Supports for Curtains

    • 1). Measure and mark the center point between the two outer mounting brackets, making sure your mark is the same distance above the window or door frame as the outer mounting brackets.

    • 2). Use the stud finder to determine whether a stud is present at the center point. If so, use the power drill to screw the center support bracket directly into the stud without tightening the screws. If no stud is present, use the power drill to install drywall anchors, and screw the support bracket directly into the drywall anchors.

    • 3). Use the level to make sure your center support bracket is even with the two outer mounting brackets. If necessary, use your hand to adjust the center bracket up or down until square. Tighten the screws.

    • 4). Slide the curtains onto the curtain rod, and insert into all three support brackets. Adjust the curtains until they hang evenly, and tighten the tiny screws found on the underside of the two outer mounting brackets to prevent the curtain rod from moving.
