As a worker in a health care, we see a lot of babies, toddler, or kids in general who have all types of breathing problems at a very young age.
This is all caused or comes back to being around smoking.
No one should smoke in the same room as a baby or a child because they also inhale the smoke.
The second hand smoke is for the most part harmful then smoking alone.
It is now illegal in South Australia to smoke in a vehicle with a baby or child Bunk beds: bunk beds are not safe for children under 9 years old.
While there are some falls during sleep.
Sleeping with others: When a baby sleeps with mom or dad it sometimes lowers the risk of SIDS because they often sleep better.
But there is risk if babies sleep in the same bed with an adult or child.
The main reasons are that baby gets under the bed of clothes or a pillow and then suffocates.
Toys and pets: Toys and pets can smother the baby.
It is best to remove all toys, stuff animals, and pets.
Especially cats have an intention to like the milk around the babies' mouth.
Waterbeds: Water-beds are soft, so it is much easier for a child to roll over, and babies will not be able to lift their heads so they can breathe.
Sofa (lounge chair): What ever you do, do not let your baby sleep on a sofa as your baby might roll and get trapped in the angle between the back and the seat.
Rocking cradle: Rocking cradles are OK; just make sure the rocking cradle cannot tilt while the baby is asleep.
Plus make sure it also has a tilt limiter so it can not tilt more than 10 degrees.
Baby hammocks: Baby hammocks may not be safe for babies.
