Help - My Teenager Is Bored And So Am I

It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life but it is important to take some time out for your teens.
Spending one on one time with your teens is an essential part of parenting and although you may think you teen will not appreciate it, I bet they will.
Here is a short list of positive things that you can do with your teen.
1.
Talk to your teen about his or her day daily.
Ask your teenager about their day when they get in from school or college.
Let them know that you are interested in what is happening in their world.
If they say something you do not agree with, do not raise your voice and start an argument, but talk it out with them.
2.
Volunteer together.
There are endless organizations that are always looking for volunteers.
If your teen is interested in animals, look for a charity that looks after abused animals and see about volunteering there once a month or week.
If you teen loves to travel, find out about charities that do walks / events to raise money for their cause.
3.
Cook with your teen.
Pick a day and together you both can pull together a great dinner.
Even though they may not welcome the thought of cooking with you, it will stand to them to be able to cook when they move out of home and have to fend for themselves! 4.
Do a course together.
This is another way you can spend time with your teenager.
You can take a cookery class, an exercise class at the gym, a computer course, driving lesson.
Look for classes in your area that you can do with your teenager.
By spending time with your teenager, you are building a good relationship where they will trust you and you will develop a good friendship with them.
