How Much Botox Do I Need?

How much Botox do you need? There are very general guidelines and they differ based on: - location of Botox injection - a female versus a male patient - how much facial expression and muscle movement you want after your injection.
Botox is measured in units.
You need a certain number of units injected into an area to get the best result.
Although Botox is injected into many different areas, the classic areas are - glabella, the area between your eyebrows.
If you try to look angry, then you'll see the up-and-down lines form - the forehead.
If you raise your eyebrows, you may see some furrows.
- the crows' feet area.
If you squint really hard, you may see more lines than you want! Very generally, women need 15-30 units in the glabella, 15-30 units in the forehead, and 5-15 units in the crows' feet area.
These are very broad guidelines.
You may need more or less, depending on what results you want, how much muscle strength you have now, and how much facial expression you want afterwards.
Women typically need less Botox than men for any given area.
Men have stronger and larger facial muscles, so they need more Botox to get the same result as women.
Any individual needs more units injected into the stronger muscles, such as the glabella/ the area which is between the eyebrows.
The average patient needs fewer "units" in the forehead and crow's feet areas.
If you want to look slightly more natural, you need fewer units.
If you want the area have less movement, then you will need more Botox units.
FYI, 1 vial of Botox has 100 units.
Perhaps a great Trivial Pursuit question?
