Victoria Line Station Tile Motifs - Walthamstow Central

The Walthamstow Central tube platform tile mural by Julia Black and is an orange tapestry design and an adaptation of a William Morris design. William Morris was born in Walthamstow in 1834 and worked there for a time. Morris's former home is now the William Morris Gallery.

Tube Geek Extras:

Walthamstow Central was originally known as Hoe Street before the Victoria Line arrived.

Note that all Victoria Line trains from here are "southbound" but actually run northwest until they reach Tottenham Hale.

Walthamstow Central is at the northern end of the Victoria Line.
The next station, heading south, is Blackhorse Road.
