How to Record Karaoke Singers
- 1). Connect the audio mix output or main out from your karaoke system to the input of your cassette tape recorder. Be sure your are connecting the output of the amplifier from the karaoke sound system into the input of your cassette recorder.
- 2). Test the cassette tape recorder with a cassette tape. Press "Record" while the karaoke singer is practicing to check if it is working. Rewind and playback to check the recording.
- 3). Load a blank cassette tape into your cassette recorder. Press "Play" for two seconds to bypass the nonrecordable area of the tape.
- 4). Press "Record" when the song begins to record the performance. You should be recording everything that comes out of the output of the karaoke machine.
- 5). Stop the recording once the singer is finished. Either press "Play" for two seconds to create a break between performances or just press "Record" again once you are ready for the next singer.
- 1). Connect your audio mix output or main out from your karaoke sound system into the input of your computer's sound card. Most sound cards use a 1/8-inch connector. Connect a 1/8-inch cable with an adapter from the computer into the RCA connector of the karaoke system. Be sure you are using the input of the sound card, not its microphone jack.
- 2). Open the sound recording software on your computer, such as Audacity or Windows Sound Recorder.
- 3). Test the system by playing some music from the karaoke system and pressing "Record." Record the sound as a WAV file. If the test plays back fine, then you are ready to record a karaoke performance.
- 4). Press "Record" when the singer is ready to start. Stop the recording when she is finished singing. Play it back to make sure you got the recording.
- 5). Burn the WAV file onto a CD-R if you want to transport the recording or to give it to the karaoke singer. Use the disc-burning software found on your computer.
