• "Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King" is an role-playing game designed and developed by Square Enix for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game puts the player in control of a series of characters who must journey to do battle against the evil Rhapthorne. Dodgy Dave's Shop

• After the sky turns red, you will be notified that a character called Dodgy Dave is opening a shop in Baccarat. When you give Dave simple items, you will be well rewarded in return. Give Dave a reinforced boomerang to receive 1,200 gold and special medicine to receive 500 gold. A Robe of Serenity will net you 6,000 gold from Dave, and a Ring of Immunity will get you a Bandit Axe. Give Dave a Crimson Robe to receive a Big Boss Shield or a Sandstorm Spear to receive a Happy Hat.
  
  

Minnie's Castle

• In Minnie's Castle on the Northwest Isle, you can exchange your medals for special items. The Fishnet Stockings are worth 28 mini medals, and the Posh Waistcoat is worth 36 mini medals. You can get 45 mini medals for the Staff of Divine Wrath and 52 mini medals for the Gold Nugget. The Meteorite Bracer nets you 60 mini medals, whereas the Miracle Sword is worth 68 mini medals. Exchange the Sacred Armour for 75 mini medals, the Orichalcum for 83 mini medals and the Metal King Helmet for 90 mini medals. The Flail of Destruction will get you the most medals--110.
  
  

Gospel Ring

• Once you have defeated all 295 enemies in the game, go to the "Battle Records" section of the pause menu and visit the "Enemies Defeated" section to receive the Gospel Ring. Wearing the Gospel Ring will eliminate random battles.
  
  

Secret Dungeon and Second Ending

• After you beat the game once, a bonus dungeon called "Dragonvian Trials" will become available. Complete this dungeon and beat the game again to see a secret second ending.
