Tips In Painting An Old Truck

So you think your old but reliable truck needs a little face lift by re-painting it? After reading this article you ill definitely jump on your feet and would be glad that you've come across this material.
Just like any other things here on earth, the amount of money spent on certain things will greatly affect the outcome of the job.
Knowing firsthand how much you are willing to spend for the car repainting job is what you need to do.
Aside from re-painting the old truck, you must consider other stuff like having it fixed.
Second, is to make sure that you have the right equipment needed for repainting your old truck.
The number one tool needed for this job to be completed, aside from the paint of course, is an excellent paint gun.
If you do not own one then try borrowing from a brother or a fries or you can check out stores.
You will need two paint guns in order to accomplish the task; one for the primer and the other one will be used for the actual paint.
Another important tool for the repainting is an air compressor, be sure to get a 5 hp with a 40 gallon tank; this will be sufficient for painting your truck.
But some people are comfortable using a portable compressor if the job needs to be painted panel by panel.
Aside from these, you will also need a place to do the job.
If you have a spacious backyard then you can set up a tent or a make shift canopy where you can do the job.
But if you have kids living with you, make sure that the place is secure.
You can use the garage and instruct the kids never to enter especially during the times when you are working.
If this is not the first time you've painted your truck then you should consider stripping its paint.
Start by removing all its chrome, door handles etc to achieve great results.
You can check out online for a high-grade automotive stripper, it may cost much but this is needed if you want your truck to look great after painting it.
Striping your truck would require you to wear safety goggles to avoid eye injury.
You will also need a razor blade scraper, hair brush made of horse's hair and a metal container for the stripper.
After the stripping session you may wash the truck with plain soap and water.
