Ideas for Homemade Christian Themed Christmas Gifts
- To begin, you will need brown foam craft squares, white foam craft squares, red foam craft squares, green ribbon, craft googly eyes, gingerbread man pattern, heart pattern, glue, scissors and a black permanent marker. First, place the gingerbread man pattern over the brown foam craft square. Cut out the gingerbread man. You will then cut five little white squiggly lines out of the white foam. The squiggly lines will be used on the hands, feet and head, to resemble white icing. For reference, picture a gingerbread cookie with the white icing.
Use your heart pattern to cut out a heart on the red foam craft square. Write "Happy Birthday, Jesus," in permanent marker on the heart. The heart will be placed in the middle of the ornament. Once you feel comfortable with the placement of the "icing" and the heart and eyes, use your glue to adhere all of the pieces on the gingerbread man. Once all pieces are glued on, poke a small hole at the top of the gingerbread man and thread the green ribbon through the top. The final touch is to give your gingerbread man a smile. Use the black permanent marker to draw the smile. - To begin the recipe book, you will need recipes, heavy craft paper, ribbon, a hole punch and a pen. This book will be based on favorite recipes and favorite scriptures. Once you have decided which recipes to include in your book, begin writing them on the craft paper. For each page, choose a scripture for that page. Write the verse on the bottom of each page. You can also use different-colored pens or markers for a festive holiday look. For the cover page, create a title and include a bible verse. Once your recipe book is complete, punch three holes on the side of the book and thread the ribbon through the holes.
- You will need fabric, felt, ribbon, cross pattern, batting, glue gun, and a sewing machine. First, cut two square pieces of material to desired size. They can be matching prints or coordinating prints. Cut a thin piece of batting the same size as material prints. Place two squares together and place batting on top of the squares. Sew three and 1/2 sides. Turn right side out and sew the rest of the way around, tucking in the seam as you sew. Now that the sewing is complete, you can now cut out the crosses on the felt by using your cross pattern. Use your glue gun to place the crosses in the middle of the coaster. You can make anywhere from four to eight coasters per person. Tie them together loosely with a pretty ribbon for presentation.
