How to Make an Ocean Themed Center Piece for Special Occasions

    • 1). In your vase, pour two to three cups of sand so that it fills about one-quarter of the vase.

    • 2). Place a few seashells into the vase on the sand. You can stick a few of them down in the sand to create a more natural effect if desired.

    • 3). Place a small amount of rocks into the sand on top of the seashells.

    • 4). If desired, you may add one or two fake starfish and sand dollars into the sand as well. This gives your centerpiece a more sea-life feel.

    • 5). Pour water into your vase so that it fills about two-thirds of the vase. The water will look cloudy at first due to the sand floating around. Let the vase stand so that the water will become clear.
