How to Use a WaterPic Dental Water Jet
- 1). There are several varieties of dental water jets and several companies that provide the appliance at varying prices. They're not hard to find. Just browse online or at your local drug store chain.
- 2). They come in styles that sit on your bathroom vanity, plug into an electrical outlet and provide as much as a quart of liquid to use at one time. There are also cordless varieties that use only about one cup of liquid and need recharging about once every two weeks.
- 3). Don't limit yourself to just using plain water! Which ever type you prefer, fill the liquid reservoir with warm water and add a splash of your favorite plaque reducing mouth wash.
- 4). Position the tip of the water jet in your mouth and then turn it on. You will feel the water pulsating against your teeth and gums. Move the tip over the surface of each tooth slowly, allowing the water to hit the area where the teeth and gums meet, gradually moving between each tooth until you've covered your entire mouth.
- 5). The idea is to flush out food particles and plaque from between the teeth and the spaces you can't see between the teeth and the gums.
- 6). Do this twice a day, every day and you will begin to have healthier gums, less plaque and therefore less tartar at your next dental visit. It's a great way to keep you teeth healthier!
