Swami Vivkenanada was well known as Narendranath Datta in his pre-monastic phases of life. He was born in Kolkata, India, on 12th January 1863. His parents were masters in different subjects, had deep devotion and other qualities. Narendranath was born intelligent, mastered in music and studies. Alike his parents he also excelled in various subjects by the time he graduated. His interest of subjects were related to Western philosophy and their history.
