How to Camo Paint
- 1). Determine the location where the camouflaged object will be used. The camouflage pattern and colors you choose will need to blend with this area. Choose three basic paint colors--one dark, one medium and one light--that will blend in with the natural vegetation or surroundings.
- 2). Use a pencil to outline a basic pattern that you will later fill in with paint. Refer once again to the natural environment where the object will be used. If, for example, the object is a boat to be used for hunting, consider patterning the camouflage after reeds and aquatic plants.
- 3). Apply the darkest color first by spraying or applying with a brush. Continue to build the colors, working through the medium and then light. Allow each color to dry before applying the next color to avoid mixing the colors.
- 4). Place leaves or reeds against the camouflaged object and lightly spray with a contrasting color. A medium tone such as tan or gray works well as an outline in many cases. Overspray the leaf or reed just enough to create an outline on the camouflage.
- 5). Allow the paints to thoroughly dry before using or attempting to transport.
