Recommended Artists If you Like George Strait

Not everyone has the same tastes in music. Even in country music, you have a vast variety of types of music to choose from. I've chosen five similar artists for fans that enjoy George Strait's music. George has a variety of styles, from Western Swing, to Honky Tonk, but when you come right down to it, he's just a good old traditional country artist. So, I've chosen five artists that have similar styles of traditional sounding country. Not a country pop star in the mix.

Alan Jackson

It's an easy step to link Alan Jackson with George Strait. Not only do they have similar styles of singing, but they also have the same solid style of performing live. You won't see either one of them running all over the stage, or smashing guitars. While George relys on some of the best songwriters around, Alan writes many of his hits on his own. Both have success in the songs they choose to record.More »

Brad Paisley

Brad Paisley has it all. He can write, he can sing, and boy, can that boy play guitar. He's very traditional, but he also likes to have fun with songs too, and has written some of the funniest tunes going with clever hooks, like "Me Neither," "I'm Gonna Miss Her," and "Alcohol." Still, he's not all fun and games as he delves into more serious topics, such as "When I Get to Where I'm Going," and "Whiskey Lullaby."More »

Dierks Bentley

Dierks Bentley, like Brad Paisley has a varied style. He's traditional to the core with a major honky tonk streak, but he also has some fun songs like "How Am I Doin'," and "What Was I Thinkin'." Add to that his wholesome good looks, and you have a perfect package of a modern country star.More »

Joe Nichols

Joe Nichols is another great new traditionalist on the scene. He has a variety of songs, some serious and some fun. Another artist not hard on the eyes, and respectful of his elders. His fourth studio release, Real Things adds two more Top 20 singles, "Another Side of You" and "It Ain't No Crime" to his list of achievements.More »

Josh Turner

Josh Turner came on the scene in 2003 with a bang, with "Long Black Train." The song had a Johnny Cash feel to it, and a country gospel sound. He released his sophomore album in 2005, and the title track became his first No. 1 single. His third album, Everything Is Fine included a duet with Trisha Yearwood on "Another Try."More »
