- 1). Do your homework. Find out temperature, humidity and rain/clarity predictions.
- 2). Conduct a little survey to find out how everyone else plans to dress: formal vs. informal, hats vs. no hats, etc.
- 3). Take inventory. Do you have clothes that will fit in with a great fall formal? That gray silk skirt will be gorgeous with a new silk twinset.
- 4). Check out a few fashion magazines. Fall colors are rich but simple: moss green, grays, black (always), silver especially, and camel beige.
- 5). Think sculpted, sleek and clean. Separates are big, and dresses are beaded, embroidered and beautifully cut.
- 6). Choose classic fabrics like lightweight wool or silk.
- 7). Think wraps. Shawls, capes and blanket serapes make big statements and are perfect for a warm or cool wedding.
- 8). Note that boots go with anything right now, even dressy dresses. Heels are still square, and toes are still square for pump-style shoes.
