Beach Glass Art Projects
- Start by gathering all the beach glass and separating it into color groupings. Put each collection into its own container, which will make it easier to work with when creating a project. To create a mosaic picture frame, you will need an old mirror or picture frame, sandpaper and a hot glue gun. Remove the glass and backing to the picture part of the frame, leaving just the frame. Gently rub the picture frame with sandpaper to help the hot glue stick to the frame.
Decide what type of design to create on the picture frame with the beach glass. A mosaic can be a random or determined pattern. Make a sketch of the mosaic design to use as a guide while working. Glue the beach glass onto the picture frame with the hot glue gun. When finished gluing the beach glass, put the picture frame back together along with a picture. - Make a beach glass pendant by selecting a medium to large piece of sea glass. Use a medium gauge craft wire, such as 22 gauge, and needle nose craft wire pliers to wrap the craft wire around the beach glass. Use wire cutters to cut the wire and craft wire pliers to curl the ends of the wire to make sure there are no sharp edges. Make sure to wear safety goggles when cutting craft wire. When satisfied with the wire wrapping around the beach glass, hang the pendant from a chain or a colorful piece of ribbon.
